Membership

Who can join?

Don’t be put off by the posh title. We’re inclusive, not exclusive. This means that anyone with a connection to Stonehouse is entitled to join.

Stonehouse Lawn Tennis Club is lovely place to sit and relax, enjoying the gardens and the magnificent view of Plymouth Sound – we have been told that it’s like having your own secret garden! As well as the two grass tennis courts, the club also has a bowling green and grassed area for croquet, bowls and pétanque (or boules). There is a collection of garden toys available for young children.  Members can find the key for the toy shed hanging on the clubhouse noticeboard.  (If you are a member, but do not have the code to access the clubhouse, accessible toilet or toilet block, please contact a member of the team).

We are keen for our members to get involved in activities to support their wellbeing.  The club and its grounds are an ideal base for enjoying the sports on offer as well as picnics, local walks, social groups and exercise classes.

 Fees:
£25 per adult
£5 per child (between 5-16 years)
There is no charge for children under 5 years old

Every member receives an electronic key fob to the gate.  You are free to use the grounds whenever you wish.

 Additional information:
Members are very welcome to bring family and friends into the grounds. We ask for a payment of £2 per adult.

Members are welcome to use the BBQ and games equipment, including the outside chairs and tables, for family gatherings or other social occasions.

If you would like to become a member, please contact Suzy, our membership secretary:  memberships.sltc@gmail.com

As well as all of the above, membership of Stonehouse Lawn Tennis Club should provide you with a sense of belonging and ownership of the club you are a part of.

There’s a modest expectation too, that to help keep costs down, you’ll offer something to help things roll along. That may be a cake for an open day, time served on the committee, some specialist professional knowledge or skill the club would otherwise have to pay for, a bit of light gardening or help organising the summer Fun Day. It’s your club – you decide.
